Lieberman Submits Letter to Resign as Dormont Democratic Committee Chairman

He declined to comment on his reasons, other than "politics" in the borough.

Harvey Lieberman has submitted his intention to resign as chairman of the Dormont Democratic Committee, citing "politics" in the borough.

When contacted Friday, Lieberman declined to elaborate further on his decision. The resignation has not yet been made official.

He said he submitted his resignation letter about a week ago to James Burn Jr., chairman of the Allegheny County Democratic Committee. Burn, who also serves as an Allegheny County councilman for District 3 in the North Hills, was not immediately available for comment.

Lieberman said he's been chairman for about a year and a half. He also serves as the borough real estate tax collector.

Lieberman's decision to resign comes just about two months before the general election on Nov. 8.
