Help Your Designated Driver Get His (Non-Alcoholic) Drink On

Here are 10 yummy drink recipes to ensure your holiday hero—the designated driver—has a tasty New Year's celebration, too.

You have your New Year's Eve party planned down to the snacks, the music and the champagne toast (and your cute outfit, of course). You’re ready to ring it in with food, friends and plentiful options for those seeking spirits to get into the spirit.

But the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s Drunk Driving Prevention Facebook page that launched for the holiday reminds party planners not to forget some of their most esteemed guests: The designated drivers.

It’s still a party for them, too—so make it more festive with these recipes, courtesy of our friends over at the administration.

Here are the 10 drinks that sounded yummiest to us—enjoy!

1. Yellowjacket

2 ounces of orange juice
2 ounces of pineapple juice
1/2 ounce of lemon juice

2. Raspberry Spritzer

2 cups of seltzer
2/3 cup of frozen raspberries
2 sprigs fresh mint
3 ounces of raspberry-flavored syrup
Ice cubes

3. Batman Cocktail

6 ounces of orange juice
1/2 teaspoon grenadine
club soda

4. Haymaker’s Ginger Switchel

9 cups of water, divided
1/4 cup of minced fresh ginger
1/4 cup of honey or pure maple syrup
1/4 cup of molasses
3/4 cup of lemon juice
1/4 cup of cider vinegar
Fresh berries, mint sprigs or lemon slices for garnish

Instructions:
Combine 3 cups water with ginger in a small saucepan. Bring to a boil over medium-high heat. Boil for two minutes. Remove from the heat, cover and let infuse for 15 minutes. Strain the ginger-infused water into a pitcher, pressing on the ginger solids to extract all the liquid. Add honey (or maple syrup) and molasses; stir until dissolved. Stir in lemon juice, vinegar and the remaining 6 cups water. Chill until very cold, at least two hours or overnight. Stir the punch and serve in tall glasses over ice cubes. 5. Mint Tisane

1 bunch of fresh mint
1 bunch of fresh lemon verbena (optional)
3 cups (up to 6 cups) boiling water
Sugar (optional), to taste

Instructions:
Place 1 bunch of mint and 1 bunch of lemon verbena (including stems) in teapot. Pour in boiling water and allow to steep for about five minutes. Add sugar, if desired. Serve in small Moroccan or other clear tea glasses. (Courtesy of O, The Oprah Magazine)

6. Summertime Barbarian
1/2 cup of grapefruit juice
1/2 cup of pineapple
1/2 cup strawberries

7. Hawaiian Smoothie

1 cup of chopped fresh pineapple
1/2 cup of chopped and peeled papaya
1/4 cup of guava nectar
1 tablespoon of lime juice
1 teaspoon of grenadine
1/2 cups ice

8. Trapper’s Special

1 part Coca-Cola, 1 part ginger ale and 1 part Mountain Dew
Cherries cleaned and halved

9. Acid Sweetener

2 drops of vanilla extract
1 1/2 teaspoons of sugar
1/2 lime juice and 1/2 lime
Water

1-1/2 cups of milk
