Expect Single Lane of Traffic on Banksville Road

Crews continue work this weekend.

Traffic may slow down commuters this weekend as road work continues on the Banksville Road.

As long as weather permits, there will be a single lane of traffic between the Parkway West (I-376) and Carnahan Road/Wenzel Avenue from 8 a.m. Friday until 6 a.m. Monday.

, which started at the beginning of June, is part of a $4.7 million project by PennDOT to improve 2.4 miles along Banksville Road. The prime contractor on the project is  Lane Construction Company of Pittsburgh, PA.

According to , the construction will last until December and will include milling and resurfacing, culvert improvements, drainage, guiderail, curbing, and traffic signal and signage upgrades.

For motorists traveling Banksville Road, PenDOT has created an email alert system for news about the construction and traffic advisories.

Enroll by sending email addresses to jstruzzi@pa.gov and writing “Subscribe – Banksville Road” in the subject line.

Commuters can also call 511 from any phone to check out traffic on major roadways before driving.
