Banksville Road Work Continues This Weekend

Crews will continue resurfacing work on the road this weekend.

If you're heading into Pittsburgh this weekend, keep an eye on Banksville Road—road work continues through the weekend.

Weather permitting, single-lane traffic closures will occur from 8 p.m. Friday through 6 a.m. Monday, between Carnahan Road/Wenzell Avenue and the Parkway West exit.

PennDOT crews will be milling and paving. The work is part of a $4.7 million project includes milling and resurfacing, culvert improvements, drainage, guiderail, curbing, and traffic signal and signage upgrades on 2.4 miles of Banksville Road from the Parkway West to McFarland Road in the City of Pittsburgh, Dormont Borough and Mt. Lebanon Township. The prime contractor is the Lane Construction Company of Pittsburgh.

The work is expected to be finished in December. In the meantime, PennDOT has created an email distribution list for Banksville Road traffic advisories and construction updates. Enroll by sending email addresses to jstruzzi@pa.gov and writing “Subscribe – Banksville Road” in the subject line.
