SOLD OUT: Taste of Brookline, This Sunday!

Local business owners are gearing up and getting ready for the , this Sunday in Brookline.

The tour, which features some of Brookline’s best restaurants, pubs and local organizations, is , at on Brookline Boulevard.

, , , , , , and will take part in Taste of Brookline. South Pittsburgh Development Corp. also will have a table at the event.

Community Bank is sponsoring the entertainment, which will feature Brookliners and guitarist Paul Lowe. Brookline Pub is sponsoring the bar.

Danny Chahine, co-owner of Pita Land, said he’s hoping the food tour attracts outsiders to Brookline.

“The Brookline people already know what’s up here,” he said. “But I think it’ll help us get more people up here. We have a lot of customers who call us from the North or South Hills who’ve never been here, and when they come up to Brookline, they love it.”

Pita Land will provide hummus, meat pies, spinach pies and baklava for the event— a “little taste of the staples,” Chahine said.

Vinnie’s Pretzel Shoppe owner Mike Vona said he’s also hoping the event shows newcomers the great things about Brookline.

“There’s a laid-back attitude here,” Vona said. “People are friendly. I’m looking forward to getting reactions from people who are coming here for the first time.”

The $25 tour tickets include food, drinks and music. Proceeds will help SPDC with community revitalization efforts.
