Potomac Bakery isn't exactly a restaurant, but it is a great local stop for cakes, cookies and other sweet specialties, so we think it still fits into the category for this week's restaurant spotlight.
The bakery has been a staple on Potomac Avenue since 1927, specializing in fresh cakes, breads and pastries. It also has a location on West Liberty Avenue in Mt. Lebanon.
It's been a stop on local food tours, and most recently was a stop on a September walking tour of Dormont hosted by the Pittsburgh History & Landmarks Foundation.
