Local Hits, Westerns and Horror, This Weekend at the Hollywood

"Roadie," "The Room," "Amityville Horror" and more on the marquee.

Local hits, a classic western and an edge-of-your seat horror film are playing at Dormont’s this weekend.

For those looking to start the weekend a little early, Thursday’s schedule starts with an episode of “Pittsburgh Dad.” Episodes of the short film also will kick off Friday and Saturday’s schedule.

Showing Thursday, Friday and Saturday is Michael Cuesta’s 2011 film “Roadie,” which tells the story of a Blue Oyster Cult follower who heads home after 20 years on the road. Also playing Thursday and Saturday is “The Amityville Horror” (1979), Stuart Rosenberg’s tale of a haunted house with an evil past.

Tommy Wiseau’s “The Room,” playing Friday only, is such a train wreck you won’t want to miss it. The rambling plotline of this awesomely bad movie follows main character Johnny as he uncovers the trail of lies in his life. Wiseau wrote, directed and stars in the film.

Sunday is reserved for “The Good, the Bad and the Ugly,” Sergio Leone’s 1966 western starring Clint Eastwood.
