Dormont Downtown Revitalization Workshops Scheduled

The first of three workshops is scheduled for April 20.

Town Center Associates and Pittsburgh History and Landmarks Foundation will hold three workshops as part of participation in the Allegheny Together program.

The first workshop, focusing on the borough’s downtown architecture and design, will be held April 20, from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the borough building.

According to Town Center Associates, the workshops will provide an overview of the program and give residents, businesses and others a chance for talk about what they’d like to see in terms of revitalization.

“This feedback is necessary in order to gain meaningful community consensus as to how we want our downtown to be shaped in the future,” Town Center Associates said in a news release Thursday.

The five-year Allegheny Together program will provide the borough with architects, real estate experts, community planners, community development specialists and project managers, according to a news release from the borough.

Residents and people from the greater Dormont area are invited to the workshops. The others are:

"Promoting Downtown Dormont as the Center of Community Life" May 11.

"Business Development in Downtown Dormont" June 1.
