Brookliner With 'Passion for Fashion' Opens Boutique on the Boulevard

Kelly Ventrice's shop, Kelly's Kollections, opened last week.

Fashion is a passion, Kelly Ventrice said, and if it’s your business too, you’ve got to be committed to it.

Ventrice’s new boutique, Kelly’s Kollections, opened at 616 Brookline Boulevard last week, and Ventrice said she’s excited to share her passion with the community that has served her so well.

“I just thought, ‘This community has been so good to me, I want to give something back to them,’” she said. “I started doing some work with the fashion business about seven years ago and I treat this like it’s my baby.”

Ventrice, who grew up in Brookline and graduated from Seton LaSalle High School, still lives in the neighborhood. She said most neighbors probably know her best by her maiden name, Kelly Wallace.

She’s a bartender by trade and works at Heinz Field and Consol Energy Center. But fashion is her main interest and, looking around at the collection of jewelry, clothing and accessories her store now offers, she said she feels like she’s on the right track.

“I’m really feeling good being in Brookline and being up on the Boulevard,” she said. “I really want to be known as that chic, trendy boutique, where you can find something cool, with reasonable prices.”

In addition to clothing and accessories—some of which carry a Pittsburgh sports theme—Ventrice also carries candles from Kandy’s Kandles and products from other local makers. The shop takes both cash and credit, and Ventrice said there’s always a “sale of the day.”

She also plans to implement “Kelly Kash,” a shopper reward system, within the next few days.

Kelly’s Kollections is open Monday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday hours vary, and Ventrice said she plans to post definite Sunday hours later in the summer.
