Brookline Pub to Close Friday Morning

The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports that the pub will be closed for failure to pay drink taxes.

At 11 a.m. today, Friday, a popular Brookline Boulevard watering hole will be shut down, according to an article published Thursday by the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.

According to the Post-Gazette report, Allegheny County sheriff's deputies were ordered to shut down Brookline Pub for failure to pay drink taxes.

County Treasurer John Weinstein told the Post-Gazette that the pub's operators owe more than $50,000 in overdue drink taxes.

An employee of Brookline Pub told Dormont-Brookline Patch that the pub owners and employees could not comment on the matter at this time.
