Beach Treats To Close Storefront, Continue Some Services

The Brookline gift shop opened on Brookline Boulevard in April.

Beach Treats Gifts is closing the doors of its Brookline Boulevard shop, but will continue to offer some services without the storefront, owner Rick Lawrence said last week.

The gift shop opened at 972 Brookline Boulevard in April. Lawrence said that although he has his wife, Peggy, have enjoyed working and meeting neighbors on the Boulevard, he thinks construction in front of the store prevented the foot traffic and parking necessary to keep the shop alive.

"We're keeping the profitable side of our business," Lawrence said.

The store will continue to take orders for hand-made gift baskets, and Lawrence said that side of the business will continue without the storefront.

The shop on Brookline Boulevard will be open until Sept. 28, and most merchandise is 50-percent off. For more information about closing and sales, see the Beach Treats Gifts Facebook page.
