American Red Cross and Wendy's Partner for Holiday Fundraiser

Through Dec. 31, Wendy's customers can buy a key tag for a year of tasty treats.

A holiday fundraiser will raise money for the American Red Cross while providing a tasty year-long treat for customers.

Now through Dec. 31 of this year, customers can buy Jr. Frosty key tags at participating area Wendy’s restaurants for $1. By showing that key tag on subsequent visits to Wendy’s, customers will receive a free Jr. Frosty as often as they wish through Dec. 31, 2012.

Wendy’s will donate 50 percent of the net proceeds of key tag sales to the American Red Cross Southwestern Pennsylvania Region and the other 50 percent to the Salvation Army Western Pennsylvania Division.

This is the fifth year for the promotion; last year, key tag sales raised more than $36,000 for the local Red Cross.

The Red Cross will use proceeds from the promotion to provide relief to local victims of disaster and to help people in Southwestern Pennsylvania prevent, prepare for and respond to emergencies.

“We are so grateful to be included in Wendy’s generous promotion again this holiday season,” said Patricia Waldinger, CEO of the local Red Cross. “I strongly encourage everyone in our community to purchase a Jr. Frosty key tag. Not only do you get free treats for a year, but you are helping our region better prepare for disasters.”
