Poetry Contest: New and Aspiring Poets Welcome

Dormont Public Library is hosting a poetry contest for all age groups, now through April 4.

Aspiring poets are invited to submit their work to Dormont Public Library for a poetry contest being held now through April 4.

Poems can be written in any style, and about any subject. Poems must be original, and be no more than 20 lines long. Authors will retain all rights to their work.

Two prizes will be awarded in each of the following age groups:

  • Grade school: 4th–5th grades.
  • Middle school: 6th–8th grades.
  • High school: 9th–12th grades.
  • Adult.

Entries should be sent to Dormont Public Library at 2950 West Liberty Avenue, Dormont, Pa., 15216.

Local judges will be selected based on expertise. Winners will be announced in late April, and will be invited to read their work at a reception to be held at the library.
