Hollywood Theater Hosting Benefit Art Show Saturday

Proceeds will benefit the theater. The show runs 6 p.m.- 9 p.m. Saturday.

The Hollywood Theater is hosting a benefit art show from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday.

Works from more than 50 artists will be on display and available for purchase, with proceeds benefitting the nonprofit theater. The art will be displayed in the theater for a month.

Nina Gibbs and her husband, Jason Sauer, came up with the idea. Sauer owns Most Wanted Fine Art in Pittsburgh.

Gibbs used to live in Dormont and volunteered at the Hollywood before it reopened ealier this year.

"I have been hoping and dreaming that the theater would reopen and be succesful," she said.

When it did reopen, she approached the nonprofit about hosting an art show.

Master printmaker John Lysak is the featured artist.

Works will be judged by Moxie Dada.

The show will feature performances by Dj liftKit and Grand Snafu from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. Short films will also be shown.
