A Taste of Dormont

A Colorful Evening Planned at 6th Annual “A Taste of Dormont”
Some of the area’s finest eateries, local wineries and brewerieshighlight a Reds, Whites, Brews and Blues wine and food tasting event

Dormont, PA, September 1, 2012- Lovers of fine wine or a good brew can quench their thirst at the 6th Annual “A Taste of Dormont” wine and dine food tasting event being held Saturday, September 15, 2012 at the Dormont Recreation Center in Dormont.  Patrons can sample delicacies from a host of the areas finest dining spots while enjoying the cool sounds of a hot duo.
     The Reds, Whites, Brews and Blues event will be hosted under the big top rain or shine from 5:00 p.m. - 8:30 p.m.  Tickets can be purchased at the Dormont Public Library or at the gate for only $25, which includes one souvenir wine glass, while supplies last.  Attendees must be 21.  The night will include a silent auction with all proceeds benefitting Dormont Main Street, a nonprofit organization dedicated to Dormont business district revitalization.
     Wineries scheduled to attend include La Casa Narcisi of Gibsonia, Pittsburgh-based Mazza Vineyards and R Wine Cellars, and Michael Stephen Kavic Winery of Carnegie.  Hearty brews will be provided by Full Pint Brewery and Great Lakes Brewing Company.
     Restaurants scheduled to attend include Atria’s Restaurant and Tavern, Cain’s Restaurant and Saloon, Calabria’s Restaurant, Giovanni’s Pizza and Pasta, and Jose and Tony’s.  The eateries will be highlighting menu specialties.  Food prepared for last year’s event included Oktoberfest items, soups, quesadillas and tacos, an assortment of pizza and pastas and more.
     The dulcet sounds of The Good Guys duo will provide the evening’s entertainment along with an appearance by the area’s local new singing talent RAEYA.
     “The event offers us the opportunity to promote what makes Dormont such a special place to entertain,” said Joan Hodson, event coordinator, A Taste of Dormont.  “It provides the added benefit of raising funds to help strengthen and improve the business district.”
