Winter Weather Advisory in Effect

Get ready for some snow and cold temps!

A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect in our area for the weekend.

According to the National Weather Service in Pittsburgh, the Pittsburgh area—including and Brookline—is under an advisory from 6 p.m. tonight through 6 a.m. Sunday morning.

The area is expected to get 2 to 4 inches of snow. The first snowfall is expected to occur tonight, Friday, and will make untreated surfaces snow-covered and slippery—1 inch of accumulation is expected. Tonight's low will be 29 degrees.

The second snowfall—occuring early Saturday into Saturday night—can add up to 3 more inches of snow accumulation and be accompanied by gusty winds. Winds could gust as high as 28 miles per hour.

Wind chills of close to 0 degrees are expected by Saturday night.

There will be a chance for snow showers on Sunday before 5 p.m. Sunday's high will be 27 degrees and the low will be 19 degrees.
