Why Was Potomac Avenue Closed on Tuesday Morning?

Readers asked Dormont-Brookline Patch why part of Potomac Avenue was closed Tuesday morning. Here's what was happening.

Readers asked Dormont-Brookline Patch why part of Potomac Avenue in Dormont was closed on Tuesday morning, and as it turns out, a neighborhood improvement project was the culprit.

Borough manager Jeff Naftal said the road was closed briefly while the crosswalk at Espy and Potomac was repaired. The crosswalk had become a "trip and fall hazard," he said.

Naftal said the road was closed so briefly that he didn't post a notice on the Dormont Borough website. Work finished before noon on Tuesday.
