UPDATED: Route 19 Improvements Continue Aug. 2-5 in Mt. Lebanon

Work to improve Washington Road (Route 19/3069) in Mt. Lebanon will continue this weekend, Aug. 2-5, weather permitting.

Work will occur on Washington between Connor/Gilkeson Road (Route 3038) and Ordale Boulevard from 6 p.m. on Friday through 6 a.m. on Monday, according to a news release from the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation District 11-0.

Motorists are advised to use caution and be aware of changing traffic patterns when traveling through the work area. Expect delays and allow extra time.

PennDOT officials remind motorists to use all open lanes to merge points.

This work is part of a $5.56-million project that includes milling and resurfacing, guiderail, minor drainage, curbs, pavement markings, signing, traffic signals, median removal, ADA ramps and other improvements on 2.55 miles of Washington Road from Connor/Gilkeson to Alfred Street. As part of this project, work and improvements will also occur on Gilkeson and Connor roads in the area of the Washington Road intersection. Overall work will conclude in early 2014. The prime contractor is Lindy Paving.
