Volunteers are needed for a cleanup effort in Brookline this Saturday. Students from the University of Pittsburgh also will help with the effort.

A group of volunteers from the University of Pittsburgh will visit Brookline this weekend and help make the neighborhood shine.

The South Pittsburgh Development Corporation (SPDC) is partnering with Pitt Make a Difference Day for the fourth year in a row to clean up Brookline Boulevard.

About 40 students from the University of Pittsburgh have committed to picking up litter along Brookline Boulevard and some of the side streets. The students will be a great help on the Boulevard, said SPDC Vice President Keith Knecht.
