New Brookline Website is Community Conversation Starter

The website is the next step in the community's effort to revitalize and rebrand itself.

A new website aimed at Brookline residents and business owners will serve as a conversation base between public meetings held to discuss Brookline's identity and form community betterment projects.

OurBrookline.com launched last week, and is a joint effort between South Pittsburgh Development Corporation and EvolveEA designed to give Brookliners a place to talk publicly about the future and identity of the community.

The creation of the website is another step in recent efforts to revitalize Brookline Boulevard and the rest of the community. SPDC received a $25,000 grant earlier this year for a branding project led by EvolveEA. Click here to read more about the project.

A public meeting held June 19 was the first in a series of three for Brookliners to talk about what they value in their community, what they’d like to improve, and what they’d like the rest of Pittsburgh to know about the neighborhood.

The next two meetings are tentatively scheduled for July 25 and Sept. 12 and are open to residents and those who work in Brookline. The meetings will focus on recommending specific projects or action plans for the community and detailing how to make them happen. Click here to read about discussion at the first meeting.

OurBrookline.com is designed to keep the conversation going between public meetings. To sign up and start sharing your thoughts and ideas, or to see what your neighbors are talking about, click here.
