Meet Erin Faulk, Local Editor for Dormont-Brookline Patch

Local editor looks forward to covering the area and meeting its residents.

I’m Erin, and if you haven’t met me yet, I’m the new local editor for Dormont-Brookline Patch.

I’m excited to join the Patch family and to cover both Dormont and Brookline. The residents of these communities strike me as proud people – for a reason. These communities have a lot of offer, with thriving small business districts, schools, churches and local organizations. I look forward to writing about all of it.

Community journalism is what I love, and I’ve been working in the field since 2007. I was a freelance contributor for the Washington Observer-Reporter, then a staff writer for the Penn-Trafford Star, a weekly publication of Trib Total Media. With Patch, I’ll have a chance to work with great people and do what I love on a daily basis.

I have a few goals for the Dormont-Brookline Patch site. They include:

  • Providing information that’s interesting to readers in both communities. Tell me what you want to read about, and I’ll look into it!
  • Providing that information accurately. Please contact me with questions.
  • Ensuring that the “comments” section is a venue for relevant and entertaining conversation. These communities have intelligent and passionate residents. Debate is great-and encouraged!-but irrelevant, personal attacks will not be tolerated.

I’ll be out and about daily. If you see me on Potomac Avenue or Brookline Boulevard, stop me and say hi, share your story ideas and keep reading! You can reach me at erin.faulk@patch.com or 412-354-8729.
