Looking for Volunteer Opportunities in KO?

Several opportunities for community service are available in the area.

Looking to get involved? Volunteers are needed by several local organizations to help with upcoming events.

The volunteer opportunities are perfect for students looking to meet a volunteer goal, or for anyone who wants to donate time to a local cause.

  • Dormont Cub Scout Pack 870 is holding its annual Blue and Gold Banquet on Saturday, March 24 at . The group is looking for 4-6 high school students who might need community service hours. Students should arrive at the school at 5 p.m. and stay for at least 2 hours to serve food and clean up after the banquet. Interested students should contact Shannon Shafer at shannonlshafer@eaton.com.
  • The Castle Shannon Youth Association is looking for help in concession stands for the spring season. Help is needed Sunday mornings at Rheil Soccer Field, and most other days at the Municipal Field in Castle Shannon. Those interested or who have questions should contact Rebecca Lyda at Jandb11@verizon.net.
  • The Green Tree Women’s Civic Club is looking for volunteer to help with Spring Magic on March 31 at Green Tree Fire Hall. Volunteers are needed to help with crafts—and one lucky volunteer is needed to be the Easter Bunny.  The club also will host a lunch and fashion show on April 21, and two women or teens are needed to model outfits from Ann Taylor.   • The Green Tree Farmer’s Market will be held at Green Tree Park on Thursday afternoons and evenings from May until October. Volunteers are needed to set up and put away tables. Those interested should contact Dan Gall at seagall@verizon.net.
