Handmade Arcade Celebrates a "Decade of DIY" in Pittsburgh

Handmade Arcade, one of Pittsburgh's largest independent craft fairs, is celebrating a decade in the 'Burgh, and the organization is seeking vendors for its December event.

Handmade Arcade is Saturday, Dec. 7 at the David L. Lawrence Convention Center in Pittsburgh. Vendor applications are being taken until Sept. 15. Vendors will be notified of their acceptance by Oct. 6. Food vendors are not permitted.

At the 2012 event, vendors included jewelry and clothing designers, stationary and paper arts, fine artwork and illustrations, accessories, housewares, children's products, bath and body products and handmade toys. Click here to see more about those vendors.

Handmade Arcade was founded in 2004 to give crafters and designers an outlet to sell and share their handmade and locally produced products at a public marketplace.

The event attracts more than 6,000 attendees and provides those working outside mainstream sectors with a high-visibility venue to sell goods, build community, network, and share their practice.

The event also will feature the Hands-on Handmade art activity and demo area, as well as live music, a raffle, and more.
