Welcome to the Dormont-Brookline Grab & Go Kids Planner! 

We've assembled a weekly calendar of kid-friendly activities and new places to try out with children. 

Each week, we'll give you the info on the five best family activities or events for the week.

You're time-pressed enough, so we're happy to do the research and find the best things to do and places to go, both locally and within reasonable striking distance. 

Look for the kids' planner each Thursday, and help us build the planner with your own suggestions and tips — just add them to the comment box. Even if you disagree with our picks, let us know. We want to hear from you!

This week, take a mother-daughter class at St. Clair Hospital or enjoy a fish fry! Here are all the details as well as three other of our top family-friendly event suggestions for this weekend and the upcoming week.

What: 

When: 6-8 p.m. Thursday

Where: 

Cost: $40

This program is designed for girls ages 9 to 11 and their mothers. The Growing and Changing program will focus on the physical changes that accompany the onset of puberty. Call or click here to register.

Where: 

Bring the family to cheer on the Golden Eagles as they take on !

What: 

When: 4:30 - 6:30 p.m. Friday

Where: 

Cost: Dinners are $8.75 - $9

Bring the family down to the church for an excellent Friday night meal! Dinners include rice or french fries, cole slaw, a roll with butter, and a beverage. 

What: Kidgits Little Planet Helpers Event 

When: 1 - 3 p.m. Saturday

Where: South Hills Village, Lower Level North Court

Cost: Free

Kids will learn fun ways to keep the environment clean and healthy! There will also be activities that will instill respect for our planet! Activities include planting your own seeds, a pitch-in recycling game, eco-friendly arts & crafts, giveaways and more!
