Get Out Weekend Planner: Skatepark, Bingo, and Parade

Here are our top picks for the weekend!

Welcome to the new and improved Get Out Weekend Planner! We recently combined the Grab & Go Kids Planner with Get Out for a one-stop shop for fun weekend planning!

It’s Thursday, and you’ve got no idea what you’ll do for the weekend.

Patch is coming to the rescue. We’ve got the best bets for your done-work-outta-here time. Check out our top picks for this weekend to find something for everyone in the family to enjoy.

Where/When: , Thursday, 7-9 p.m.
Why Go?: The Pitcher Park Memorial Skatepark invites parents of skates, bikers and bladers to come to their initial DESIGN KICK OFF MEETING with Grindline Skateparks of Seattle, Washington. Bring your ideas and be a part of the final design of Pitcher Park!

Where/When: , Thursday, 8 p.m.  
Why Go?: This program is led by Chris Hnot. Once we understand what sound is and how it works, we are able to become more aware of ourselves and out surroundings. The final result is to make a connection to tuning ourselves like a musical instrument.  Get more in touch with this sense and see the difference.

Where/When: , Thursday, 7 p.m.
Why Go: Up to $4,000 is given away each Thursday at Bingo! Each game winner receives a $00 prize. There are five specials where you can win $200 for each special. There are many other interesting small games of chance played through the evening. This is a non-smoking Bingo.
Pricing: Donation is $15 for a 25-page 9-card packet, $10 for packet #2 and $5 for packet #3 or more.

Why Go?: End a work week with relaxation! Skip the bar happy hours and join in on a healthy yoga session.

Why Go: The group from  will meet at the Brookline Blvd. Cannon to remember and celebrate the men and women who serve in the armed forces.

Why Go?: Use this yoga class to get your body energized! This class will teach you the ways to use your body's natural "caffeine."

7. Lowe’s Build and Grow Clinic: Biplane
Where?/When?: Lowe's (5775 Baptist Rd)/Saturday, 10 a.m.
Why Go?: Kids will use a kit to create a cool Biplane. The kit comes with two complete sets of stickers and punch out pilots! The workshop is for grades 2-5.

Why Go: The pool will open this Saturday, as long as the weather permits it. The pool will be free to all KO residents on Memorial Day

Why Go?: Pittsburgh’s Professional Soccer team will play against the Wilmington Hammerheads. Let’s go Riverhounds!

Where/When: Brookline Blvd & Stebbins Ave, Monday, 10 a.m.
Why Go?: The South Hills Memorial Day Association will hold its annual parade at 10 a.m. The parade will begin on Brookline Boulevard at Stebbins Street and proceed along Pioneer and West Liberty avenues in Dormont. The parade will end at Mt. Lebanon Cemetery where State Sen. John Pippy, R-Moon, will speak.
