Get Out: Weekend Planner

Here are five events to check out this weekend.

It’s Friday, and you’ve got no idea what you’ll do for the weekend. Patch is coming to the rescue. We’ve got the best bets for your done-work-outta-here time. Check out our top picks for this weekend to find something for everyone in the family to enjoy.

1.
Where/When: David L. Lawrence Convention Center, 3 p.m. on Friday
Why Go?: The David L. Lawrence Convention Center will be hopping and bopping with over 300 of the finest Custom cars, hot rods, classic cars, restored muscle cars, tuners, trucks and motorcycles that the US has to offer.
Pricing: Tickets are $15, $5 for children 6-12, Free for children 5 and under. Click here for tickets.

Where?/When?: Castle Shannon V.F.D., 7 p.m. on Friday
Why Go?: Come to the Castle Shannon Fire Hall for a chance to win purse or cash! This fundraiser features handbags from Coach, Louis Vuitton, Kate Spade, Brahmin, Michael Kors and more. Raffle tickets will be sold that night with prizes valued up to $200. Ticket cost includes a light dinner.

Where/When: , noon to 2 p.m. on Saturday
Why Go: The Keystone Oaks Iron Works Speed and Agility Training School is a hands-on camp intended to help all interested district students aged 7-12 improve their speed, agility and coordination in a fun, positive learning environment. Golden Eagles varsity football coach Nick Kamberis and his staff will be hands-on in teaching the basic fundamentals and techniques needed to help students "become sudden NOW!" by helping them learn how to improve and enhance sport related speed, agility and coordination.  The cost of the camp includes a participatory t-shirt. The four week camp will run each Saturday from Jan. 28 through Feb. 18 and will be held in the Keystone Oaks High School gymnasium.  Session One is  for students ages 7-9 and will run from noon to 1 p.m.  Session Two is geared at students ages 10-12 and will run from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m.  Click here for a sign-up sheet. Why Go?: Join Sterling Yoga for a bellydance party! There will be treats for sale from the Vegan Goddess.

Where/When:, Jan. 29 to Feb. 4
Why Go?: The Catholic Sisters of Western Pennsylvania are inviting the public to their homes to join them in service as they collect food for families in need. The Catholic Sisters of Western Pennsylvania are sponsoring a tri-county wide food drive during the week of Jan. 29 to Feb. 4.  The group’s most recent collaborative service project is being done in conjunction with the World Day of Consecrated Life on Feb. 5, a day set aside by the Roman Catholic Church to witness to women and men called to religious life, as well as honor the past, present, and future of consecrated life. Items collected will be distributed to local charities, including the Pittsburgh Food Bank, North Hills Community Ministries, St. Winifred’s Food Pantry in Pittsburgh’s South Hills, The Ladle in Ambridge, Little Sisters of the Poor, Our Lady’s Pantry at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart High School in Coraopolis, Vincent DePaul Food Pantry of Greensburg and Emmanuel Community Care Center in Ohio. for a list of collection sites.
