Welcome to the new and improved Get Out Weekend Planner! We recently combined the Grab & Go Kids Planner with Get Out for a one-stop shop for fun weekend planning!

It’s Thursday, and you’ve got no idea what you’ll do for the weekend.

Patch is coming to the rescue. We’ve got the best bets for your done-work-outta-here time. Check out our top picks for this weekend to find something for everyone in the family to enjoy.

Why Go?: The Dormont Athletic Boosters is sponsoring "Spirit Night" at the Chick-fil-A in South Hills. If you eat dinner at this Chick-fil-A, tell your cashier that you support Dormont Boosters and 20 percent of the sales go to helping raise funds for youth activities!

Where/When: Grey Box Theatre, Thursday - Saturday, 8 - 10 p.m.
Why Go: Don’t miss the endlessly entertaining Steve Pellegrino in his current one man show about growing up in an immigrant Italian family, whose lives were affected by the great depression, union organizing and WWII.

Why Go: Venture Outdoors is celebrating Earth Day a week late with the 2nd Earth Day hike at Dormont Park. Participants will learn how composting works during the leisurely stroll on the trail. The group will also pick-up trash along the way while the leaders talk about the importance of trees in parks. Snacks will be included. Please bring your own trash bag and garden gloves. The first 5 kids to register will receive a free gift! Register online or call!

Why Go: The Church of God youth, ages 11 through 25, of the Dormont area are invited to this event. The B-Shoc concert will be held in the Family Life Center.

Where/When: Pottery Barn Kids at the Galleria , Saturday, 10 a.m.
Why Go?: The National Geographic Little Explorers Club is coming to Pottery Barn Kids at the Galleria in Mount Lebanon. This week, the topic is sharks! Children, ages 3 and up, will learn all about ocean creatures through hands-on activities, quizzes, songs and more!

Why Go?: DABA is hosting a parade and other opening day festivities! Players will meet at the Dormont Borough building at 9:30 a.m. and the parade will proceed to Pop Murray Field.
