Art Exhibit, Fashion Show Benefit and More This Weekend

Here are five events to check out this weekend.

1.
Where/When: , 6 to 9 p.m. on Friday and 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday.
Why Go: The Tenth Annual Spring Art Exhibit and Sale is sponsored by the Primary Colors Art Guild and LifeSpan's Hillsdale Community Resource Center. Fifteen percent of the proceeds from the sale of artwork will be donated to the Dormont Library. This event is free and open to the public. There will be a free shuttle bus and parking at the Dormont Pool Parking Lot Friday evening. Enjoy some of the best appetizers in the city, raffles and great people while exploring rooms full of beautiful artwork.

2.
Where?/When?: Point State Park, 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday.
Why Go?: The annual community festival returns to Point State Park with free activities for all ages. Try out kayaking with great views of the city. Take a bike ride or stroll around the Point. Try your hand at fishing. Relax and stretch in a free yoga class, or try to reach the top of the climbing wall. It will make it easy for you to get outside!

3.
Where/When: , 7 p.m. to 12 a.m. on Saturday.
Why Go?: Officially celebrating the 30th Anniversary of Frank Henenlotter’s cult horror film classic, Basket Case, released in 1982, the movie tells the story of a young man who carries his deformed conjoined twin brother in a large basket while seeking vengeance on the doctors who separated them against their will. After this special screening, Basket Case actress Beverly Bonner will present her live play Casey: 30 Years Later! A hilarious follow up to the film, this play serves as a perfect way to catch up with beloved Casey character.
Pricing: $15 in advance, $20 at the door.

4.
Where?/When?: Strip District, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday.
Why Go?: The Junior League of Pittsburgh will host its fifth annual Touch-a-Truck event, a one of a kind, educational, and fun family festival.  The event gives children of all ages the opportunity to explore heavy machinery and meet the people who build, protect, and serve the Pittsburgh region. Let your kids get behind the wheel, honk the horns and meet the men and women who drive the trucks.
Pricing: $5 for anyone age 1 year and older.  

5.
Where?/When?: at 4 to 8 p.m. on Sunday.
Why Go?: Jamie's Dream Team Presents Beyond Belief, a fashion show. This event is sponsored by Enhanced Digital Printing. This is sure to be a fun-filled evening with Fashion and Entertainment. Call 412-377-3898 to purchase tickets.
Pricing: $25.
