Get Out: Triathlon, Concert Fundraiser and Grand Prix

Here are five events to check out this weekend.

1.
Where/When: South Park, 7 a.m. on Saturday.
Why Go: Athletes ages 7 to 12 are invited to run, swim and bike for a great cause in an exciting day promoting an active, healthy lifestyle for youth.  Proceeds benefit Habitat For Humanity Of Greater Pittsburgh, whose mission is the elimination of substandard housing in Allegheny County and to make decent shelter a matter of conscience and action.
Pricing: $30 per athlete.

2.
Where?/When?: , 7:30 p.m. on Saturday.
Why Go?: Silent Partner and Friends returns to the Hollywood Theater, 7:30 p.m., this Saturday,, for its third concert fundraiser. The evening also serves as a CD release party for The Drowning’s new album “Every Hour Wounds.” The Apple Inn, on West Liberty Avenue, co-sponsors the event. Tickets are $12 in advance at www.showclix.com/event/227211 and $15 at the door. Past concerts have sold out, so get your ticket early!
Pricing: $12 in advance, $15 at the door.

3.
Where?/When?: at 11 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. on Saturday.
Why Go?: A perfect class for the new student, or for the experienced student who wishes to take time to re-investigate their own practice. This class will focus on the fundamental yoga postures, breathing techniques, and alignment.
Pricing: $15.

4.
Where?/When?: , 2 p.m. on Saturday.
Why Go?: Lucy Leitner will be signing her book Working Stiffs as part of the Summer of Scares events. .

5.
Where?/When?: Schenley Park, 7 p.m. on Sunday.
Why Go?: The Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix is proud to be hosting its 30 Anniversary of Car Shows and Vintage Racing this July. Held in Schenley Park, this exciting event has become Pittsburgh's LARGEST summer event! With over 200,000 spectators over a 10 day period, the Vintage Grand Prix is known across the country as the Premier Vintage Motorsport Event.
Vendor spaces are still available! All proceeds benefit the Autism Society of Pittsburgh and Allegheny Valley School.
