Get Out: Chocolate, Flea Market and Butterflies

Here are five events to check out this weekend.

1.
Where/When: , 11 to 2 p.m. on Friday
Why Go: Embrace your dark side with Linda Mason.  Explore the world of sweet possibilities with bittersweet, semisweet, milk and white chocolate. To coax the most flavor from your chocolate, you will learn the secret to making professional chocolates in this new class. Click here to register.

Where?/When?: 320 McMurray Rd, Pittsburgh, PA, 9 a.m. on Friday and Saturday
Why Go?: The DeMarillac Guild of St. Louise DeMarillac Church is holding a flea market "Timeless Treasures" on Friday, July 27, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday, July 28, from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. with a bag sale from noon to 1 p.m. in the LeGras Parish Center. Items will include jewelry, decorative items, knick knacks, kitchen items, gently used children's clothing to 4T and much more.

Where?/When?: South Park Nature Center at 10 a.m. on Saturday
Why Go?: All ages are invited to look for and learn about these beautiful, fascinating creatures. Appropriate for youth and adults.

Where?/When?: , 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday
Why Go?: The library is wrapping up the Summer Reading Program with their Closing Party, featuring two special guests. At 11 a.m., the Pittsburgh National Aviary will present a Special Program called “Aviary On The Fly—Penguins” where a live penguin will visit and do a meet and greet with the audience. Stop by to learn lots of fun facts and meet a real penguin! From 12 to 12:45 p.m., Brother Strawberry the Balloon Man will be on hand to create his amazing balloon sculptures. You may have seen some of his balloon flowers decorating the front desk, now you can get your own! July 28 is your last chance to get credit for books you’ve read during the program, so don’t miss it!

5.
Where?/When?: , 2 p.m. on Saturday
Why Go?: As part of the Summer of Scares series, Eljay’s co-owner Chris Rickert and Horror Realm author Christine Soltis will answer publishing and marketing questions for the Do-It-Yourself oriented author. Christine Soltis will also be signing books.
