Easter Egg Hunt and More, This Weekend in Dormont

Easter Egg Hunt, field cleanup and flag football kick off spring in Dormont.

Tis’ the season—for spring things! Dormont has three great events this Saturday to help you get in the spirit.

  • Dormont’s annual Easter Egg Hunt will be Saturday from 10 a.m. to noon. The morning starts with crafts, cookies and drinks at Dormont Recreation Center, followed by an Easter Egg hunt in . Pictures with the Easter Bunny are $5. Rain date is March 31.
  • Volunteer help is needed for some spring cleaning at Pop Murray Field. Starting at 9 a.m., the will be working at the field to prepare for the upcoming baseball and softball seasons.  Volunteers are needed to help with painting, weeding, cleaning and general field maintenance.  If you’ve got your own weed whackers, shovels, brooms or wheelbarrows, please bring them along!
  • KOA Youth Flag Football will hold its skills combine at 10 a.m. at Dormont Stadium.  This year there are 160 children between the ages of 6 and 13 registered in the flag football program for the 2012 season.  Parents interested in coaching or assisting with a team should bring a notepad and pen to take notes.
