Dormont, Brookline Prepare for Memorial Day Parade

This is the 79th year for the South Hills Memorial Day Parade.

The 79th annual South Hills Memorial Day Parade is Monday, May 28.

This year’s Memorial Day Parade will be dedicated to James A. Robinson of Dormont, a veteran of World War II.

The parade will start at 10 a.m. on Brookline Boulevard, continue down Pioneer and West Liberty Avenues through Dormont, and will end at Mt. Lebanon Cemetery. A service will be held at the cemetery following the parade.

Parade participants include Dormont Mayor Tom Lloyd, the Emerald Society Bagpipers, the Salvation Army, Drill Team and students, Carrick High School bagpipers, local cub scout and girl scout packs, the Dormont Main Street Association, marching bands from Seton LaSalle and Mt. Lebanon, Dormont Historical Society, , Brookline Dance Studio, Brookline Meals on Wheels, the Brookline American Legion, Pittsburgh Councilwoman Natalia Rudiak, and many more—the list is still growing!

Volunteers are needed to place flags at the site of fallen veterans at Mt. Lebanon Cemetery on Friday, May 25th at 6 p.m.
