Dormont Borough Recognized as Certified Sustainable Municipality

The borough is one of the first in the area to receive the certification.

Dormont Borough last week was recognized as a Certified Sustainable Municipality by Sustainable Pittsburgh, and it’s among the first municipalities in the area to receive the distinction.

The borough received Silver-level certification from the Southwestern Pennsylvania Sustainable Community Essentials Certification program, a program of Sustainable Pittsburgh that tracks 131 policies and practices that define a sustainable community.

"The Borough of Dormont is proud to be recognized as a Silver Certified Community,” said Borough Manager Jeff Naftal in a statement released last week. "Dormont has a commitment to saving taxpayer dollars, using resources efficiently, and applying best practices in municipal government and community development. We are pleased to be recognized and be part of the regional community of good government."
