'Catch Me If You Can' Legend Coming to South Hills

The 2013-14 Town Hall South lecture series will bring five well-known speakers to Upper St. Clair.

Frank Abagnale—best known as the inspiration for the movie "Catch Me If You Can" (2002) starring Leonardo DiCaprio—will kick off the lecture season on Oct. 1, 2013. Abagnale is one of the world’s most respected authorities on forgery, embezzlement, and secure documents

Next up is Eric Greitens—a U.S. Navy SEAL, a nonprofit humanitarian leader, a documentary photographer and an author. He was deployed four times during the War on Terror and was awarded the Purple Heart and the Bronze Star. Greitens will be in town on Nov. 5, 2013.

On Dec. 3, 2013, the Economist’s Economics Editor, Zanny Minton-Beddoes, is slated to speak.

The man who invented the first brain scan that allows doctors to see the physical evidence of brain aging and Alzheimer’s disease in living people will be speaking on Feb. 4, 2014. Dr. Gary Small leads a research team that has been at the forefront of discoveries on the detection and prevention of brain aging and memory loss. 

And on March 4, 2014, Wes Moore—a youth advocate, an army combat veteran, a national best-selling author and an innovative social entrepreneur—is scheduled to speak.

Town Hall South is a philanthropic organization dedicated to bringing nationally- and internationally-acclaimed lecturers to the South Hills of Pittsburgh. It functions as a self-sustaining entity under Westminster Presbyterian Church.

Each lecture takes place from 10 to 11 a.m. at the Upper St. Clair Theater. Following the lectures, a luncheon and stimulating question-and-answer session with the speaker is held at St. Clair Country Club.
