Brookline BreezeFest, Car Cruise This Weekend

If ever there was a weekend to hang out in Brookline, it's this one.

Starting today, there are two big events on Brookline Boulevard. The first is the Brookline Car Cruise, which will be held at the Brookline Recreation Center and Memorial Park.

The event will be held from 5 p.m. until dusk, and trophies will be awarded for Best in Show. For more details, see .

Also this weekend is the Brookline BreezeFest, which is Saturday, Aug. 11. The CitiParks 5K run/walk, as well as a Mini-Breeze and Dog Walk, will be held along Brookline Boulevard between 8:35 and 10 a.m. Information about start times and more is available at the Brookline Breeze website.

Following the Breeze, the Brookline Chamber of Commerce will host live music, art vendors and great food along Brookline Boulevard. Info is available at the Brookline BreezeFest Facebook page. Here is the list of bands lined up to play:

• 9:30 a.m.: Michael Perotta (solo) during the race; solo break with Jeremy Caywood.
• 11 a.m.: Jumpity Uppits.
• 12 p.m.: Maitland; solo break with Jason Born.
• 1 p.m.: Treehouse.
• 2 p.m.: Noble Hunter.
• 3 p.m.: Angry Bear Syndrome.
• 4 p.m.: Off The Record.
