Bitter Temperatures Settle In Pittsburgh

Bundle up this week! Bitterly cold temperatures have moved into Pittsburgh. There is also a chance of snow Tuesday in the South Hills.

Better bundle up this week! Bitterly cold temperatures are expected into the Pittsburgh area through Friday.

Dennis Sims, a meteorologist at Air Science Consultants in Bridgeville, told Chartiers Valley Patch last week that he expected the bitter temperatures to arrive in the South Hills on Tuesday.

Sims said the middle of the week would have lows in single digits and highs in the teens.

That forecast was backed up by the National Weather Service in Pittsburgh. The high was near 24 degrees Monday, and snow is in the forecast today and throughout the week.

Tuesday: A chance of morning snow shower. Partly sunny, with a high near 11. Low around 5.

Wednesday: Partly sunny, with a high near 17. Low around 12.

Thursday: A slight chance of snow showers. Partly sunny, with a high near 27. Low around 2.

Friday: Snow, freezing rain, and sleet likely. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 30. Low around 20.
