Martin and Zimmerman---a hoodie

          I think we “all” are aware of the shooting in Florida of Trayvon Martin---yes/no?  The person accused of shooting Martin, George Zimmerman, is currently in hiding. 

            As far as is know at this writing, the way it went down was that Martin was stopped by Zimmerman, an argument ensued, and Zimmerman shot and killed Martin.  This scenario is the simple version.   But what really happen?

            Zimmerman, part of a block watch program in Sanford, Florida was during his rounds when he met Martin.  Apparently, both exchanged words, a scuffle ensued and Martin was shot.  With Florida’s stand your ground law, Zimmerman indicated that was what he was doing. Now this shooting has become a “NATIONAL OUTRAGE” with even President Obama entering into the situation with various comments.  

             But I have some questions that I really do not have any answers for, and questions which I am confused about.

            Not to lessen the tragedy of a young man’s death, but why is this a National Outrage, when within the African American community killings are occurring multiple times a day.  I do not see the Rev. Al Sharpton crying over these killings. 

            Why are groups, students, adults, and other individuals, wearing hoodies?  I guess this is some sort of statement.  The pictures I have seen of the personalities wearing hoodies even while some are dressed in a suit, are rather silly. 

            Should everyone, no matter your race, ethnicity or gender fear hoodies no matter who wears these sweat shirts with a hood? 

            Hoodies and sheets same thing?

            Why is the term “Bounty” being used by the New Black Panther Party?  Why not reward?  What is the implication being implied here with the term Bounty?  

            Does wearing hoodies imply certain characteristics that have sinister connotations?

            My list goes on………..!

            But what is the real tragedy is that a killing is being excited to a near frenzy pitch without knowing all of the facts and without knowing exactly what went down.  Media frenzy to create the “correct” political template is outrageous to say the less, and yet Americans listen as if the media has what, maybe the answer. 

            So, what is the answer? 

            I believe all of the facts should be sorted and the legal system continue to pursue the investigation; without the theatrical dramatics of showmanship that is currently being displayed.
