Benghazi----------Events Unfold

Several weeks have passed since the unfortunate incident in Libya concerning U.S. Ambassador Chris Stevens and fellow Americans.  By now not only are Americans aware of what happen but also the entire world.

To quickly review the situation as it unfolded.  The Ambassador was on his way to the American compound in Benghazi when a group of Libyans attacked Ambassador Stevens, where they Al Qaeda, a terrorist group, or hostile Libyans.  In the ensuing firefight, which apparently had direct and indirect fire, the Ambassador and other Americans were killed.

                The questions are numerous.

When Americans go traveling around hostile countries, someone or something is watching, keeping tabs on these individuals.  Who or What was watching?

Why wasn’t anything done to aid these men?  From the sketchy reports I have read, calls were made for help, maybe some relief was on the way, but nothing came.  And, when a general officer wanted to send immediate, direct aid, he was relieved of his command.  Why?

According to President Obama, Bin Laden is dead and also is Al Qaeda.  If the terrorists were in deed Al Qaeda, how did Al Qaeda resurrect itself?  Or, maybe Al Qaeda is not dead.

The most troubling thing I personally believe is the fact that help was probably hindered and did not arrive to help these brave Americans.

With thousands of troops, of all sorts, in and around the area, something could have been done to help.  To keep this in perspective, remember that Libya was the scene not too long ago of violent civil disruptions and killings.  I am sure; Libya is a place where government agencies are constantly on alert.  With the past history of Libya, why these men were not better protected is totally in question.  Unless, of course, there was some other clandestine activity involved?
