This weekend, Dormont's Hollywood Theater will bring a powerful film about strength and healing to audiences.
"High Ground," a 2012 documentary by Michael Brown and Scott McElroy, follows 11 veterans returning from Iraq and Afghanistan and one Gold Star mother who attempt to heal by climbing a daunting Himalayan Mount Lobuche.
Although not as hard-hitting, other weekend features are sure to please. Also on the marquee is the 1971 comedy "Harold and Maude" Japanese anime series Madoka Magica Part I: The Beginning Story and Part II: The Eternal Story.
If you're going:
- "High Ground" (2012): Friday, Dec. 14 at 7 p.m.; Saturday, Dec. 15 at 7:30 p.m.
- "Harold and Maude" (2012): Friday, Dec. 14 at 9 p.m.; Saturday, Dec. 15 at 5 p.m.
- "Madoka Magica": Sunday, Dec. 15 at noon. Tickets are $20 and posters will be given away.
Tickets are $7 for adults, $5 for adults age 62 and older, $5 for children age 12 and younger, unless otherwise noted. Call the theater at 412-344-2958 for details.
