UPDATE: Students En Route to School Left Bus on Parkway
Two young students left a school bus and walked across the Fort Pitt Bridge while on their way to school Wednesday morning.
Two Keystone Oaks School District students who left a school bus and walked across the Fort Pitt Bridge on Wednesday morning were on their way to a school outside of the district.
According to the report from state police, a First Student bus was traveling eastbound on I-376 near the Grant Street exit around 8:15 a.m. when the driver pulled over because two students were acting unruly.
State police said a 12-year-old student used a sharped stick he had in his backpack to poke holes into the back of several bus seats. He and a 14-year-old student then left the bus through a rear emergency door and walked westbound in the eastbound lanes across the Fort Pitt Bridge.
Both students were being transported from the Keystone Oaks School District to alternative schools outside of the district.
The students were spotted by a PennDOT worker, who picked them up.
Both students were cited for disorderly conduct, and the 12-year-old also was cited for criminal mischief. They were released to the custody of their guardians.
The Keystone Oaks School District did not return a call Wednesday in regard to the incident.

I hope the parents beat the snot out of those kids. Had I done something like that when I was 12 years old, my rear end would still be purple and I'm almost 40.

Amen to that. Had I done something like that at 12, my parents would have turned me six shades of purple....and rightfully so.
Children in general these days don't have the respect for authority and their elders that my generation did....and I'm only 29.

I guess the one thing to be thankful for as things seem to be today is that the punk didn't stab another student or the bus driver.
@ Tom K - I agree, the lack of respect and discipline of children today is ridiculous. Taking away their video games doesn't cut it.
