Tony and Lauren Dungy Talk Steelers with Patch
The former Steelers safety and defensive coordinator and his wife were in the region Wednesday to promote reading and share their new children's book with pupils.
Tony Dungy and his wife, Lauren, were in Edgeworth on Wednesday to promote reading to elementary students and to share their children's book, "You Can Be A Friend." The book teaches children about tolerance and acceptance of others.
The Dungys have roots in Western Pennsylvania. Lauren grew up in Edgeworth and taught sixth grade at the elementary school. Dungy, a former Pittsburgh Steelers safety and assistant coach, went on to win the Super Bowl as head coach of the Indianapolis Colts.
The Dungys offered their perspective on the Steelers AFC Championship matchup against the Jets on Sunday.
