Thefts, Drug Arrests in Brookline, Beechview

Brookline, Beechview police blotter, Dec. 17 to Jan. 1.

 

Below is a list of crimes reported and arrests made by Pittsburgh police Zone 6 officers, from Dec. 17 to Jan. 1. Blotter information for the first week of January will be posted as soon as it is available.

Aggravated Assault

  • A man told police someone shot his house in the 1500 block of Orangewood Avenue in Beechview with a gun between 10 p.m. on Dec. 31 and midnight on Jan. 1.

Burglary

  • A man reportedly tried to force open the rear door of a home in the 1300 block of Beechview Avenue in Beechview at 4:30 a.m. on Dec. 25, but did not get inside the home. The man was described as a black male, 6’2” and wearing a black hoodie and gray pants.
  • Jewelry, money and DVDs were stolen from a home in the 1600 block of Dagmar Avenue in Beechview between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. on Dec. 22. The burglar entered the home by forcing open the front door.

Theft

  • A cell phone was reportedly stolen from the 500 block of Crane Avenue in Beechview between 7:35 and 9:15 a.m. on Dec. 21.
  • A package delivered to a home in the 1200 block of Westfield Street in Beechview was stolen between 11:40 a.m. on Dec. 19 and 8:20 a.m. on Dec. 20.
  • The cable box power source was stolen from a home in the 300 block of LaMarido Street in Brookline on Dec. 22 between 8 and 9:30 p.m.
  • A cell phone was reportedly stolen in the 700 block of Brookline Boulevard between 8 a.m. and 3 p.m. on Dec. 26.

Theft from vehicle

  • Money and a credit card were stolen from a vehicle parked in the 2400 block of Woodward Avenue in Brookline around noon on Dec. 31.

Criminal Mischief

  • A vehicle parked in the 900 block of Woodbourne Avenue in Brookline was damaged between 5 and 7:58 p.m. on Dec. 21.
  • A brick was thrown through the front window of a home in the 900 block of Berkshire Avenue on Dec. 19 between 6 and 11 p.m.

Arrests

  • Nicholas Briglia of Brookline was arrested in the 600 block of Berkshire Avenue in Brookline on Dec. 22 for public drunkenness, possession of a controlled substance and theft of services.
  • Jeffrey Hirleman of Green Tree was arrested near the intersection of Brookline Boulevard and Castlegate Avenue in Brookline on Dec. 28 for possession with the intent to deliver heroin.
  • Matthew Walker of Beechview was arrested for DUI near the intersection of Broadway and Neeld avenues in Beechview on Dec. 23.
