Quick and Easy Breakfast Smoothie

This week's column from Food Mood Girl, Lindsey Smith.

Breakfast literally means, “breaking the fast,” and is recognized as the most important meal for many reasons.

Eating a healthy breakfast can help you concentrate better, stay energized longer, and crave less throughout the day. Smoothies are an easy way to incorporate more fruits and vegetables into your daily routine. They are quick to make and easy to clean-up, making them convenient for traveling.

Here is a an easy and cooling breakfast that will both nourish you and keep you cool during the hot summer days.

Do you have any other good breakfast smoothie recipes you could share that are heavier on fruits?

I can't stomach any veggies outside of corn...

Hey Tom! Sorry I am just seeing this now! You can really make any smoothies with any of your favorite fruits. Because fruit is high in sugar, I would suggest balancing a fruit smoothie with some sort of high-quality protein powder. If you need suggestions, feel free to e-mail me at lindsey@therealyounutrition.com.
