PennDOT Work on West Liberty Postponed
PennDOT has postponed work through Dormont and Brookline due to weather.
Rainy days have caused PennDOT to postpone work on West Liberty Avenue in Dormont and Brookline until next week.
PennDOT originally scheduled to install road signs on West Liberty this week through Wednesday, but will do the work next week, weather permitting.
Short-term lane closures will occur as needed in each direction between McFarland Road and Wenzell Avenue. Inbound restrictions will occur from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and outbound restrictions from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.
PennDOT advises motorists to use caution, slow down and be aware of changing traffic patterns when driving through the area.
The overall $7.3 million project started in 2010 to improve about 2.44 miles of West Liberty Avenue from Saw Mill Run Boulevard to McFarland Road. The Lane Construction Corporation of Pittsburgh is the prime contractor.
Drivers can log on to 511pa.com or call 511 from any phone to check traffic conditions on major roadways before traveling.
