Patch Poll: Which Teams Are Going to the Final Four?

The March Madness begins!

The brackets are finished and the March Madness has begun, baby (channeling my inner Dick Vitale)!

It's going to be a very busy day at the CONSOL Energy Center in downtown Pittsburgh as the NCAA Tournament gets underway with four second round games, including West Virginia against Gonzaga and Syracuse taking on UNC-Asheville without their star center Fab Melo.

The action begins one day after Pitt won its first round game of the College Basketball Invitational. The Post-Gazette reports 1,449 fans attended the game—the smallest crowd to attend a men's basketball game in the 10-year history of Petersen Events Center (ouch).

It's apparent all eyes in Pittsburgh are on the NCAA Tournament. College basketball fans across the nation—and even people who haven't watched a minute of basketball in their lifetime—have filled out their brackets for pools with co-workers and friends.

Did you know:

  • The odds of picking a perfect bracket randomly are more than 9 quintillion to 1.
  • 2006 was the last time no No. 1 seeds made the Final Four. This has only occurred twice. The other year was 1980.
  • The biggest upset ever in terms of a point spread was in 1993 when Santa Clara upset Arizona in the first round. Santa Clara’s point guard freshman was none other than current NBA Phoenix Suns’ player, Steve Nash.

So we want to know, which teams are in your Final Four bracket this year? Tell us in the comments section below.

And take our Patch Poll. Who's going to win it all?

You can also upload a picture of your bracket in the photo box above!

Yeah, I recognize that it was a mistake on my part to root for WVU (although I'm still a fan!). Good luck with your brackets!
