Notice Anything About the Parking Meters?

Many of Dormont's parking meters aren't functioning today. Here's why!

How many of you walked up to a parking meter in Dormont today, only to find there was nowhere to put your money?

On Wednesday only, ticketing at parking meters is suspended so that a crew from Allegheny County can inspect the meter heads, make sure they're all working correctly, and replace the ones that aren't.

Dormont Borough's street department was out and about Wednesday removing the inner-workings of the parking meters and taking them to the borough garage for inspection.

Borough manager Jeff Naftal said the inspection is performed once a year on meters throughout the borough.

So today, drivers can expect to find a few free parking spaces around town—but tomorrow, you might want to have some spare change handy.
