Motorcycle Chase Leads to DUI Arrest
Dormont police chased two speeding motorcycles, and caught up with one.
A motorcycle chase through a Dormont neighborhood led to a DUI arrest last week.
Sgt. Ralf Zawischa was on patrol in the 3200 block of West Liberty Avenue on Thursday, May 3, when he saw two motorcycles speeding down the road.
According to the police report, the motorcycles nearly struck two pedestrians who were trying to cross at an intersection. The motorcycles then sped up and turned left onto Dormont Avenue, going the wrong way on a one-way street.
Zawischa continued to chase the motorcycles in the direction of Dormont Park until they separated. One turned onto Annapolis Avenue, where the driver—identified as Richard Speciale, 28, of Mount Washington—lost control of the motorcycle and overturned.
Speciale was arrested and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, as well as several traffic violations. According to the police report, Speciale told police he did not know who the other driver was.

To see him brag abut this incident on facebook, I don't think he comprehends the serious nature of his crime
