Several local, small businesses have specials for Thanksgiving, Black Friday and Small Business Saturday.

With a holiday weekend starting tomorrow, several local businesses have specials planned for Thanksgiving, Black Friday and Small Business Saturday.

Check it out:

  • Sugar Cafe has a Small Business Saturday page on Facebook. If you shop small at Sugar on Saturday only, you'll get 25% off Holiday Gift Certificates and
10% Holiday Gift Basket orders. Complimentary holiday mini-cupcakes will be available, too.
  • Truver's Jewelry has expanded its hours for holiday shopping. Through Dec. 23, the store will be open Mondays and Thursdays from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. and on Tuesday, Wednesday and Fridays from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. More info is available on the Truver's Jewelry Facebook page.
  • Mexi Casa is opening early on Black Friday for a 'Kegs and Eggs' special, featuring the Gobbler Burrito. Click here to read an article about the event.
  • Dormont's Hollywood Theater is hosting a Black Friday Family Double-Feature. Cartoons, followed by "The Neverending Story" will run at 2 p.m., and 4 p.m. another round of cartoons will be followed by "The Goonies." The price is $7 for adults, $5 for kids and seniors. Check out the Hollywood Theater website to see what else is happening this weekend.
  • If you're headed toward Mt. Lebanon, Betsy's Ice Cream will be closed on Thanksgiving Day, but will be open Friday and Saturday from noon to 8 p.m. and Sunday from 3 to 8 p.m. They have an Angel Tree, if you want to help a family in need.

These are just a few of many, many local businesses in Dormont, Brookline, Beechview and nearby communities to support this weekend. If you know of another small business hosting an event or a special, tell us in the comments!
