Isis Cafe Opens on Brookline Boulevard

Brookline's new restaurant serves Egyptian cuisine, making it a unique addition to Pittsburgh.

Brookline Boulevard is home to restaurants representing numerous cultures and cuisines, and now this eclectic stretch has a unique new eatery to add to the mix.

Isis Cafe is now open, and serves up Egyptian cuisine—it's one of just a handful of restaurants in Pittsburgh to do so.

The restaurant was featured Thursday in a review on PG Plate, which details the type of food available, service and prices. To read the full article from PG Plate, click here.

More information also can be found at the Isis Cafe Facebook page or on the restaurant's website.

Isis Cafe is located at 815 Brookline Boulevard, and is open daily from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., according to the Facebook page.

I have been there and it was a great experience. I was not that familiar with Egyptian food, however the owner took the time to explain everything. We ordered a couple of different things (sadly I can't remember what they were called) and everything was great. The place has a really cool atmosphere as well. The menu changes daily and they said to check their website or you can call to see what they are having that day and their is definitely something for vegans to meat eaters.

Great to know! I've never had Egyptian food, so it's good to know their servers will help you. I'm excited to try it. I've only heard good things about it so far.

Is this in the same building as The Rubaiyat was, many years ago?

I've only been in this area for a couple of years, so I'm not sure. Clint Burton would likely know—he runs the Brookline Connection website and Facebook page. This is a great source for Brookline history: https://www.facebook.com/BrooklineConnection?ref=ts&fref=ts
