Dormont Woman Arrested in Baldwin Road Rage Incident
A Baldwin Township police officer pulled a gun on the woman during the incident.
A Dormont Borough woman was arrested in Baldwin Township on Nov. 13 after police said she punched two women and hit a pedestrian with her car during a road rage incident.
Baldwin Township police Chief Terrence P. O'Brien said police arrived at the intersection of Dewalt and Newport drives after the Dormont woman—identified as Amanda Marie Petrelli, 29, of Tennessee Avenue—had reportedly punched the other two women, a mother and daughter who were riding together in the same vehicle.
All three women were involved in the same traffic accident at the intersection, O'Brien said.
According to the police report, a witness saw Petrelli punch the two women while all three were standing outside their vehicles. When police arrived, Petrelli had gotten back into her vehicle, and police said the witness was yelling at Petrelli to stop driving away. At that point, O'Brien said, Petrelli drove straight into the witness, knocking him onto her vehicle's hood.
A Baldwin police officer then commanded Petrelli to stop, but she continued driving away until the officer drew his gun and pointed it at her.
O'Brien said that, when Petrelli exited her vehicle again, the officer smelled alcohol on her breath and observed her as having watery and bloodshot eyes. Marijuana was found in her vehicle, as well, according to the police report.
Petrelli was arrested and taken to the Allegheny County Jail. She was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, possession of marijuana, aggravated assault, simple assault and recklessly endangering another person.

figured as much. Dormont isn't Homewood, Wilkinsburg, etc. Cracks me up people from the Lebo, USC bubbles think as much. I grew up in Lebo and there is just as much 'trash' and as many jerks in those places. Didn't some guy just murder a guy in a road rage incident...?

And the lovely teen who smashed his girlfriend in the head with a hammer was from Mt. Lebanon. Doesn't matter where you live, there are stupid, "trashy" people everywhere. Dormont is no different than any other community - there are good and bad people.

Rob's allowed to post whatever he wants, this is America after all. If someone wants so badly to get out of a town that they move but they closely follow that towns news each day it is just a comment on their own life, albeit a sad one. Rob i am envious that you have found purpose in your life and have become active in your new, better, and prosperous community. Woe are we who strive to eek by in life despite this terrible, crime ridden, backwards community we are trapped in.

USC ain't exactly Shangra-La! The rich can be meaner than those with less money. At least people in Dormont know their neighbors.

I just moved from USC back to Brookline after 5 years, mainly to escape attitudes like Robert's. Brookline/Dormont area has so much more character/vibrancy. Before you start calling me low class, Robert, understand that I have two Master's Degrees and am a professional (not that not having a degree would EVER make anyone low class, but I anticipate Robert potentially having that mind set, so I am just fending off his next comment). To each his own, but you won't find me trashing USC when we hear about someone getting raped in the high school stairwells or GET THIS: an USC man actually killing someone in a road range incident, after a minor fender bender, earlier this month. Hmmm,I could never live in a place like USC with this ilk and the shenanigans they pull. Look it up, Robert, and do some research before you spout off.

Phew! For a minute there, I thought Robert WAS living in Dormont. So glad we have positive, upbeat, friendly people who contribute to society in Dormont, USC can have all the negative, nasty people it wants.

Seems like many of you have a severe case of......Those little town blues.......I do understand though that you have to make the best of it. Suggested therapy includes.....take in a day at Kennywood or Sand Castle......maybe take a ride up to Storybook Forest......even a two tier bus tour of McKeesport just to get your mind of dormon for a short time. Try it....it does wonders....it's what I used to do......I haven't been to any of these places since I moved to USC.

The above comment, Robert, is this about you having the little town blues? Or you thinking we all need it? Because other comments have clearly stated we like it here so I am not sure why you would post about your own feelings being negative. I am confused, again, by your posts. You seem depressed since you have moved away from such a vibrant area, called Dormont. We like it here, we moved to be here, so what you post doesn't make sense. Are you trying to spell Dormont at Mormon or Moron? I don't understand you again, constantly misspelling an area that you and everyone agrees that we are glad you don't live here anymore. Please post something relevant to the article, nothing you have posted has.
